Stepping Up
The transition to middle school can bring big emotions, growing social pressures, and increased anxiety for many kids. Research shows anxiety concerns often increase as children move into adolescence and the middle school years. Stepping Up is a supportive summer therapy group focused on emotional regulation, friendships, social media awareness, family connection, and nervous system support.

At Pahtia Counseling Center, we believe in systemic family support and wellness. This group, has been crafted by our amazing staff who specialize in children’s mental health and family systems. The group while designed for your pre-teen, will require parents to attend two parent-only sessions where you will be guided and supported in knowing what to expect and how to support your child during the middle school years. Your child will not simply be offered tools or skills, but will explore the depths of their emotional world, practice healthy relational skills, learn to recognize their body signals, and put into practice making their needs known.
