Why Group Therapy?

Why Group Therapy?

Being in a group provides a unique opportunity to explore our thoughts, feelings, and relationships with others. In a group, we grow in self-awareness, practice new ways of relating, and receive valuable feedback in real-time. This lively and shared experience fosters insight and connection, helping you address challenges, build resilience, and grow emotionally in ways that are not possible alone.

What is group like and how can it benefit me?

Young adults in group therapy exploring thoughts, feelings, receiving support for anxiety and depression.

All groups look different, depending on their participants and their purpose.

Interpersonal process groups are lively, interactive experiences where group members explore their thoughts and feelings in real time as they relate to one another.

Groups are facilitated by an experienced therapist whose role is to cultivate aliveness and emotional authenticity among group members.

Some benefits of group work include increased self-understanding, greater proficiency in emotional expression, and deeper, more meaningful relationships.

You don’t need to “get over it.”

The BSWT group is a place to begin rebuilding from the inside out, with support from women who truly understand what you are walking through. This group is designed to help you gain educational insights and tools to understand betrayal trauma and its impacts, as well as guidance on regulating your nervous system and calming your emotions. Participants will explore setting healthy boundaries and creating safety while integrating the various layers of grief.

The hybrid group is led by Pathia’s co-founder and family therapist, Sidu Arroyo, LPC, on Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
