Joshua Boulter

Licensed Professional Counselor- Clinical Director

Welcome! My name is,

A man with glasses, a mustache, and dark hair styled back, wearing a dark blue button-up shirt, sitting on a sofa with a patterned pillow, in a room with a lamp and grey walls.

I grew up in the DFW metroplex and moved to central Texas in 2022. Prior to earning my Master of Science I earned a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and enjoy supporting clients on religious and spiritual issues, when they’re interested. When I’m not doing therapy you can probably find me either playing a board game or with my nose in a book.

Abstract swirling of dark purple, black, white, orange, and gold colors creating a galaxy-like effect.
A man with glasses and a beard taking a selfie on a sandy beach with a dog lying nearby. The man is wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a maroon shirt, while the dog is white with brown patches and wearing a collar, with a leash attached. The ocean waves and cloudy sky are visible in the background.

OUR WORK TOGETHER

There are so many reasons that can lead us to seek therapy. Whether grieving the loss of someone we love; wondering why we repeat problematic behavior in relationships; or just struggling with the heaviness of life; I’m here to help where I can. We'll work on relieving your distressing symptoms while also paying careful attention to what they may be trying to say to us.

SPECIALTIES

I specialize in long-term relational, depth therapy with adults (18+) of all walks of life and identities (racial, cultural, religious, gender, and sexuality) including those who struggle with personality disorders, relationship issues, and mood disorders. My style is warm, collaborative, and non-directive. Rooted within the traditions of depth psychology (Jungian and psychoanalytic), my work is about paying attention to the unconscious.

We do this in many ways: through dreamwork, active imagination, wishes and desires, and free-association. Also, we pay attention to relationship - those relationships you have in your life, as well as the therapeutic relationship.
